Recipe: Aronia Bread Pudding

Sweet cinnamon and vanilla complement the tart aronia berry to make this bread pudding the perfect dessert (or breakfast!).

Ingredients:

4 eggs, beaten

2 cups milk

1/3 cup sugar

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

3 cups (4 slices) dry bread, cut into cubes

1/2 cup frozen Sawmill Hollow organic aronia berries

Instructions:

  1. To dry bread cubes, bake them in a 300 °F oven for about 15 minutes.

  2. Place dry bread cubes in an 9“ round or square baking dish.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, beat together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Set aside.

  4. Sprinkle Sawmill Hollow aronia berries over bread cubes.

  5. Pour egg mixture over bread and aronia berries.

  6. Bake in a 325 °F oven for 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

  7. Serve warm. Dress it up with homemade whipped cream and Sawmill Hollow Aronia Berry Syrup!
